News and/or Rants!

                Hey Everybody, Jake here!

Well big news is that a third of Valves Half-life 2 source code was stolen by a hacker.

This link http://money.cnn.com/2003/10/07/technology/vivendi_code.reut/index.htm?cnn=yes is actually about the theft... Way to go Half-Life, You made it to CNN :) Now, seriously this is a very bad move on the hackers part. The point of having the source code is to be able to hack the game and give that player an advantage over other players. The problem is that with only a third of the source code, it limits your ability to what you can hack and what you can't. The other reason its a bad idea, is that since they were hacked they have pushed back the release date to rewrite the stolen code, by the time the source code gets to the public, It will be very different from what the person stole. Thus, the only thing they have accomplished by doing this is push the release date from Christmas, to April 2004. Also the have put Valve, the company that makes this game, in some temporary jeopardy in financial terms...

So, now that that is out of the way, we can talk bout other things... Okay, I have nothing else worth saying... but it is good to be able to write out to all our readers and have some fun making a comic.... so, um yeah, well... I got nothin... Oh, and no one was hurt in the pervious strip. :)
